Ananda Yoga, developed by Swami Kriyananda, a direct disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda, emphasizes the connection between the body, mind and soul. Yoga classes awaken the life force, energize the spine, and allow the practitioner to become peacefully centered.
Our Yoga teachers stress inner awareness and energy control. Each asana (pose) is a natural expression of a higher state of consciousness. Asanas are enhanced by a corresponding affirmation that works consciously with your subtle energy.
Ananda Yoga classes move slowly, smoothly and deliberately through the asanas. We encourage students to enjoy the Yoga experience; straining while in an asana is discouraged. Classes are appropriate for every level of student, beginner, intermediate and advanced.
